Why Trust a Coffee Without a Name?
Sometimes the best things aren't labeled — they’re discovered. At Kona Coffee Company, we source and roast only what we love, and our Roaster’s Private Batch is no exception. Its exact origin is confidential, but the taste speaks for itself. Selected for its elite complexity, this roast is a rare exception to the rule — and a favorite among seasoned tasters who’ve compared it to the world’s finest.
How to Brew Roaster’s Private Batch
The recommended method for brewing Roaster’s Private Batch is pour-over — specifically with a V60 or Chemex. This style of brewing showcases the coffee’s nuanced complexity. We suggest a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:15.5 — for example, 20 grams of coffee to 310 grams of water. Use a medium-fine grind, roughly the texture of table salt. Always brew with filtered water heated to 92–96°C (198–205°F). Before brewing, rinse your paper filter with hot water to remove any paper taste and to preheat your dripper. Add the freshly ground coffee and gently tap to level the bed. Begin by “blooming” the coffee: pour about twice the weight of your coffee in water (around 40 grams of water for 20 grams of coffee) and wait 30 to 45 seconds to let carbon dioxide escape. Then, slowly pour the remaining water in two to three stages, using a steady, circular motion. Aim to keep the coffee bed gently agitated, but avoid splashing. Let the brew drain completely. The entire process should take about 2:45 to 3:15 minutes. A gooseneck kettle is recommended for better control during pouring. Enjoy your cup immediately after brewing to experience its full depth and dimension.

Why We Keep the Origin Secret?
In a world flooded with labels, certifications, and marketing noise, we decided to take a different approach: Let the flavor, not the name, do the talking. We chose to keep this origin unnamed for one reason — we want you to approach it with curiosity, not expectation. It’s not about where it’s from. It’s about what it delivers. And according to coffee pros who’ve tasted it, what it delivers rivals — and sometimes outshines — even Kona’s Extra Fancy beans. Trust your taste. Discover your own truth in the cup.
