Understanding Kona Blend Misconceptions
Many coffee drinkers are surprised to learn that most “Kona blends” on the market contain just 10% real Kona coffee — barely enough to influence flavor. This often leaves consumers disappointed, expecting a true Kona experience and getting mostly filler beans instead. Our 35% Kona Blend was crafted to change that. By using over triple the standard amount — and sourcing exclusively from Extra Fancy grade Kona beans — we aim to deliver a noticeably richer and more authentic taste. If you’ve tried other blends before and found them underwhelming, this one might be the revelation you were looking for.
How to Brew the Perfect Kona Blend Cup
Our 35% Kona Blend deserves to be brewed like a single-origin—because it's made from a select cut of beans typically reserved for elite small-batch roasts. We recommend a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio (e.g., 20g of coffee to 320g of water), using water heated to about 200°F (93.5°C). This balanced ratio highlights the Kona component’s signature sweetness and floral aromatics. For best results, use a pour-over method with pulse pouring to layer the extraction. Grind your beans just before brewing — with slightly different grind sizes for each origin if possible — and use filtered water to showcase the blend’s full range of origin character.
