Understanding What Makes 51% Kona Different
Most blends labeled “Kona” contain only 10% authentic Kona coffee — just enough to use the name, but rarely enough to capture its essence. That’s why many taste thin, flat, or disappointing.
Our 51% Kona Blend was designed to raise the bar. With more than half genuine Kona beans — the same rare cut used in our 100% Kona Coffee (Private Reserve) — this is a Kona-forward experience. The result is a cup with real depth, balance, and the unmistakable buttery sweetness that defines world-class Kona. If 10% blends left you unimpressed, this is the one that changes your mind.
Brewing Recommendations
To bring out the blend’s Kona-forward character:
Ratio: 1:15.5 to 1:16 (e.g., 20g coffee : 310–320g water)
Water Temp: ~200°F (93.5°C), filtered
Grind Size: Medium to medium-fine (slightly finer than sea salt)
Method: V60 or Chemex for clarity; French press or high-quality drip with metal filter for depth
Brew Time: ~3 to 3½ minutes
Pro tip: Begin with a bloom pour (double the weight of coffee in water) for 30–45 seconds to release CO₂, then continue in steady stages. This blend rewards patience and precision, yielding a cup that highlights Kona’s buttery smoothness, supported by complementary origins for a finish that’s quietly unforgettable.
